Jang Keun Suk’s new song “Rain” (release date unconfirmed) has been selected as the commercial song for his Seoul Makkori rice wine CF. The new CF “Cheers” version is the 2nd round following last year’s much-discussed CF. The pure white world of the “Seoul Makkori bar” in which the bartender JKS and a lady drink a toast to each other conveys the appeal of the product.

SUNTORY announced that the new TV CF of “Seoul Makkori”, “Cheers with Seoul Makkori” version was going to be broadcast throughout Japan on Feb. 22. The CF has continued to star a very popular Hallyu star, Jang Keun Suk. He appeals the semi-sparkling suaveness and the convenience because of the canned Makkori to the viewers.

The CF has continued to star a very popular Hallyu star, Jang Keun Suk. He appeals the semi-sparkling suaveness and the convenience because of the canned Makkori to the viewers.
The setting is a white “Makkori Bar” and a bar man performed by JKS makes a toast with a woman who first drinks it, showing her the charm. His new song “RAIN” is used as the background music. It helps to enhance the sweet atmosphere.
The shooting was taken place in suburbs of Seoul, Korea this January. The set of Makkori Bar was recreated as the same as that used in the previous CF.
It’s been a year since we shot last, but he performed quite well like a real bar man who serves drinks to guests every night. When we shot the scene that he exchanged words with the woman, we felt like a gentle and sweet breeze. It’s JKS’ world.
What surprised the CF crew was his Japanese skill. He instantly understood the setting and production of acting without interpreters. Besides, he discussed how to act in detail such as stage business. Although it was marathon shooting, we succeeded to finish it smoothly not to have concentration problems.

Jang Keun Suk gets appointed as honorary ambassador for 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit
On December 7, actor Jang Keun Suk attended the appointment ceremony because he is nominated as honorary ambassador of 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit which will be held on the 26th and 27th of March next year.
2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit is a place where over 50 countries and various international organizations appear and discuss about the prevention and countermeasures of nuclear terrorism.
Previously in November, singer Park Jung Hyun and child actress Jin Ji Hee, Wang Seok Hyun attended the appointment ceremony. In this ceremony, Kim Sung Hwan, the leader of the preparation and planning for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade asked Jang Keun Suk to make the importance of nuclear security widely known and presented him an appointment certificate.
Jang revealed, “I was in deep sorrow when the Fukushima nuclear accident happened, leaving an indelible scar in Japan. From that incident, I thought deeply about what the consequences would be if someone commits terrorism at one of the nuclear power plants. Therefore, I will alert people beyond borders about the importance of nuclear security. I hope many people pay attention and participate.”
Kim Sung Hwan, the leader of the preparation and planning revealed, “I expect that appointing Jang Keun Suk as honorary ambassador, who is supported by many people and who has a global image, will successfully let the people know about the importance of this summit and nuclear security in a friendly and heartfelt way.”

Lena Park, Jang Keun-suk Tasked with Spreading Nuclear Safety Awareness
Singer Lena Park, also known as Park Jung-hyun, and actor Jang Geun-seok will promote the Nuclear Safety Summit slated to be held in Seoul in March next year.
A ceremony to name them as promotional ambassadors will take place in the Foreign Ministry building on Thursday, the task force that is preparing for the summit headed by Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan said on Friday.(Above picture: Lena Park (left) and Jang Geun-seok)
A graduate from Columbia University in the U.S., Park was selected due to her popularity and fluency in English. She will sing the campaign song for the gathering in both languages. Jang will also record the song to raise awareness of nuclear security among younger people.

Jang Keun Suk as Ambassador of Seoul's Nuclear Safety Summit
Singer Lena Park and actor Jng Keun Suk have been appointed as the promotional ambassadors for the Nuclear Safety Summit (NSS) to be held in Seoul in March 2012. The NSS committee expressed on 4 Nov that they will officially appoint the ambassadors at the Foreign Affairs Ministry on 10 Nov.
During the preparation period for the NSS, Hallyu star JKS will participate in various promotional activities, and will actively promote the importance of nuclear safety to the young generation. He will also participate in the recording of the “Peace Song”.
Lena Park, having graduated from America’s Colombia University last year with a bachelor’s degree, speaks fluent English and has superb singing skill, thereby gaining the unanimous vote of the committee. At the graduation ceremony, she sang America’s national anthem solo as the student representative, and as the NSS promotional ambassador, she will use Korean and English to sing the NSS “Peace Song” specially produced for Seoul’s Nuclear Safety Summit.
The committee expressed that the image of both ambassadors fulfill the ultimate goal of the NSS – a peaceful and safe future, hence they have decided to appoint the two as ambassadors and hope that both will be more effective in the widespread promotion of the NSS.
